This vessel was hand pinched from a slab of layered colours. The original block of layered colours was sliced, laid flat and joined to make a new thick slab. That thick slab was then pinched out to a bowl shape before taking it’s final shape in a mould. The rim, handles and foot were subsequently added. Pinching out a thick slab can provide for the introduction of interesting movement in the layers and lines.
